In the Fall of 2016, a group of believers came together and started the Croton Falls Community Adventist Church, now the Living Hope SDA Church. We all shared the same inconvenience; we were members of a church in Connecticut but lived across the border in New York. So we planted a church with a simple mission, to be a lighthouse to our new community, a point of light that represents our Savior, Jesus Christ. Five years later, our goal has not changed; our Beacon continues to be a fixed influence in the community of Croton Falls, upper Westchester county.
Our work has been made light by the help of some Godly people along the way. Namely, our Mother Church, The Danbury Bethel SDA Church, and the Presbyterian Church of Croton Falls, who didn't hesitate to take us in when we needed a home. This list would remain incomplete without mentioning John and Judy Schriver, two extraordinary people who were so instrumental to the beginning of our development. John is no longer with us, but Judy remains a source of strength and inspiration.
On our journey, we lost a few friends and gained new ones. We have had memorable highs and painful lows but remain dedicated and unwavering to the promise that we are never alone or without hope. This is God's lighthouse, His Church, held together by faith and the call of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20)
